Saša Šantel (1883 – 1945)

Šantel was born in 1883 in Gorizia, Italy.

At a very young age, his mother already taught him how to draw. He later studied painting for four years at the School of Fine Arts in Vienna, and then continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts. He trained as an art historian and professor of drawing.

For most of his life, he worked in music, drawing and painting, which he also taught at many slovenian schools.

He painted with watercolor, oil and ink.

Šantel passed away in 1945 in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
