Kostja Gatnik (1945-2022)
He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana.
He was the author of the cult comic strip Magna Purga, and throughout his creative career he illustrated and designed more than 80 books.
He received several awards, including the Levstik Award for lifetime achievement in 2011 and, prior to that, the Prešeren Award for lifetime achievement in the field of fine arts in 2010. In 2019, he also received the Hinko Smrekar Award for lifetime achievement as part of the Slovenian Biennial of Illustration.
He died in 2022.
