France Slana (1926 – 2022)

Slana was born in 1926 in Bodislavci, Slovenia.

In 1949, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana under the mentorship of Gabriel Stupica. He improved his knowledge at the Master’s School of Arts and Crafts in Graz.

In 1964, he received the Prešeren Fund award for his work.

The artist worked in gouache, tempera, watercolor, oil paints, pastel, drawing, graphics, tapestry and ceramics.

Slana passed away in 2022 in Škofja Loka, Slovenia.
