Vladimir Makuc (1925 – 2016)

Makuc was born in 1925 in Solkan, Slovenia.

In 1954, he graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana. In 1956 he then finished sculpting specialty for restoration and conservation at the same academy.

He received many awards for his work (including the Prešeren Fund award in 1962, the Prešeren award in 1979 and the Rihard Jakopič award in 1987).

The artist exhibited at many solo and group exhibitions in Slovenia and abroad.

He created in graphics, painting, sculpting and tapestry.
