Jože Kotar (1952)

Born in Novo Mesto. He attended Rob’s painting school under Prof. Milan Butina and sculptor Duba Sambolec. In 1979, he traveled to Paris for the first time and was accepted into the Paris workshop of Jaro Hilbert, a professor at a private academy in Cairo.

He has presented his work at numerous solo exhibitions, participated in group ex-tempore exhibitions, and many important international art colonies. He has received numerous awards at home and abroad. In 1992, he received the Trdina Award for achievements in painting and gained the status of a freelance artist.

He lives and works in Novo Mesto.
